Why BBA Financial Service?

India has raised as one of the largest economies in the world in the last two decades. Banking and financial services sector has promoted the economic growth in various ways. The sector is one of the important contributors to India’s GDP and is expanding at an enormous rate. We have public sector banks, private banks, co-operative banks and non-banking financial institutions in the country today. While India has raised interest among many foreign banks as a destination for investment, the existing banks are currently focussing on expanding their network and making their presence in rural parts of the country. The insurance in itself is a huge sector with both private and public sector banks offering policies of all kinds. The raising consciousness among the population about the various forms of investment has resulted in growth in mutual funds and stock broking industries. Thus, financial services as a sector is booming and is in need of talented candidates who can contribute to the growth of the industry. The BBA programme with Financial Services as specialisation offered at B.S. Abdur Rahman University is comprehensive in its approach towards training students for the careers of tomorrow.

Course Objectives

The programme is a comprehensive package comprising of subjects that are relevant to present day career needs. The aim is to create candidates who can take up challenging roles in the industry on completion of graduation.
•    Learn the fundamental subjects of management and business studies which include HR management, finance management, applied macroeconomics and corporate communication
•    Develop in-depth knowledge in course specific subjects such as business law, insurance risk management, investment banking and operations and business taxation
•    Get a clear understanding of business ethics and values, team work and cross cultural leadership
•    Work on a project that is relevant to present financial services industry under the guidance of expert

The minimum qualification required to apply is a pass in the 10+2 examination from PUC / ISC / CBSE or equivalent board or a course recognised as equivalent thereto by the university.
